My presentation crashed in front of the whole marketing team

It happened yesterday during our quarterly review when my PowerPoint froze. I had to quickly switch to the backup slides on my phone while someone rebooted the laptop. Has anyone else had to recover from a tech fail during a big meeting?

Nothing beats the panic of a frozen screen. But you nailed it with the phone backup.

Ever notice how the person handling a tech fail calmly always ends up looking more competent than if everything went perfect? Your quick switch to phone slides probably made you seem more prepared, not less. Those moments show real problem solving skills that a smooth presentation just can't. The team likely remembers how you fixed it more than the crash itself.

Totally agree with that point. It shows you can handle real pressure, not just follow a script. People remember the recovery because it's genuine skill in the moment. A perfect presentation could just be good luck or over-rehearsed. But fixing a live problem proves you know your stuff cold. That kind of calm under fire builds way more trust with a team.
