My old band saw motor gave out mid-breakdown yesterday
It was a 3/4 horsepower unit from the 90s, been humming along fine for years. Cutting through a beef rib rack and it just stopped dead. No smoke, no noise, just done. Had to finish the whole breakdown by hand with a breaking knife, took forever. Anyone know a good source for a reliable replacement motor around the 1hp range?

My buddy had the same thing happen with his old planer motor. It just quit on a Friday afternoon with a big custom job half done. He ended up finding a solid replacement at a local motor repair shop that sells refurbished units.
