Unpopular opinion: that 'Room' ending with Jack and Ma leaving felt way too neat
I sat through the whole book thinking the escape was the climax, but then the author wrapped up every trauma in a tidy bow and I couldn't shake the feeling it was unfair to anyone who's actually been through that.
Used to think the ending was hopeful but you got a point. Wrapping everything up that cleanly does kind of cheapen the reality of what that kind of trauma does to people.
