Just noticed a pattern where authors use dream sequences to explain the whole plot at the end
I read three books last month where the main character wakes up and realizes the entire story was a dream or a coma fantasy. It felt lazy, like the writer couldn't figure out how to wrap things up naturally. Anyone else get annoyed when the big reveal is just 'it was all a dream'?

Actually you said "explain the whole plot at the end" but most authors use dream sequences as a cop-out in the middle too. Like they write themselves into a corner and suddenly "oh wait, none of that happened.

Wow you actually changed my mind, I always defended dream sequences before.
