Remember when you could actually see the grease ports on a bottom bracket?

Last week I was working on a 2018 carbon frame with press-fit bearings and had to use a blind bearing puller for the third time that day. Three years ago at the shop in Eugene, we had a 90s steel bike come in with those big, open cup-and-cone bearings you could just pack by hand. What's the weirdest 'progress' you've had to adapt to on newer bikes?

Used to hate threaded headsets but now I see the point.

Totally get that! Had a new gravel bike with internal cable routing that was a total nightmare to thread. Felt like performing surgery just to replace a shift cable. Sometimes simpler really is better.
