Just had a vintage Shimano freehub body grenade on a 90s MTB restoration

It let go with a loud crack during a test ride, sending pawls and springs into the street. Anyone know a good source for NOS parts for an old STX-RC groupset?

Remember when those freehubs were basically a time bomb. Had a similar thing happen on an old Rockhopper, but the whole wheel locked up. Finding just the body for that level of group is a real long shot these days.

That's a classic Shimano freehub failure, but STX-RC was a mid-range group. You might have better luck searching for the whole hub assembly instead of just the body.

Seriously, how bad could it be... just find the pieces and glue it back together.
