A simple comb trick for blending around cowlicks
I had a regular client with a stubborn cowlick on his crown that always made the blend look choppy. After three haircuts of struggling, I tried holding a fine-tooth comb flat against the area while using my clippers over it. The comb acts like a guard but lets you see exactly what you're cutting, and it smoothed everything out in one pass. Has anyone else found a good method for those tricky crown cowlicks?

That comb trick would just snag and pull my client's hair.

What kind of comb are you using, @the_kelly? A wide-tooth detangler on wet hair with conditioner should slide right through. If it's a fine-tooth comb on dry, curly hair, then yeah, it's going to catch on every single knot and cause a lot of pain. The tool and the hair type make all the difference.

Ever notice how many arguments are really just people using the same word for totally different things? Like "comb" can mean a cheap plastic fine-tooth thing or a proper wide-tooth tool, and nobody specifies until there's a problem. It happens with everything from "cleaning the kitchen" to what counts as "on time.
