My client in Portland insisted on running the main sensor wire through his new HVAC duct last month, which I warned against.

The humidity from the duct caused a short that took me three hours to trace and fix last week, so what's the weirdest place a customer has asked you to run a wire?

Seriously, though, is it ever that big of a deal? Clients have their own ideas and sometimes you just have to go with it. I've had someone want a cable run behind their kitchen cabinets because they hated the look of wire mold. Was it a pain? Sure. But you fix it and move on. People get hung up on the weird requests, but isn't that just part of the job most days?

Actually, some requests can cause real damage like that short circuit. It's okay to push back when safety or the work itself is at risk.
