Considering a small crane for my backyard shed build. Wise or reckless?

I'm adding a new shed and thought about using a compact crane to position the heavy timber frames. My brother says it's smart to use what I know from occasional crane work, saving cash on labor. But my neighbor argues that home setups lack safety checks and could cause damage or injury. I'm torn between applying trade skills and avoiding potential mishaps.
