Did you flip through it before buying? I made that mistake once with a shelter book too, cover looked great but inside was donor names and intake charts. What worked for me was hitting a used book store and grabbing a big hardcover of just cat portraits, no text pages at all, and that thing actually gets passed around when people come over. Check the clearance table at Half Price Books or similar, you can get a thick photo-only book for like 8 bucks.

Buddy of mine does the same thing with his cooking vids, but instead of fails he films the stuff he burns or drops on the floor. His views tanked but the few people who stuck around actually pay him now, so there's something to it.
