inHonestly thought the whole 'glacial erratic' thing was just a fancy name for a random rock, but I found a massive granite boulder in a field in Iowa last month that looked totally out of place. A local told me it was dropped by a glacier like 15,000 years ago and now I'm obsessed. Anyone else have a story about a rock that made you believe something you thought was just a tall tale?
Yeah, that feeling of the landscape changing once you know what you're looking at is so cool. It's like your brain flips a switch and suddenly you're not just in a forest, you're standing in the path of a giant sheet of ice. That "scratch on the earth" line is perfect, it really does feel like that. Makes you feel tiny in the best way, lol.

inWas sure a hoof stand was a waste of money until a vet in Boise said something.
My old boss had to practically force me to wear gloves for handling rough materials. I thought they made my hands clumsy and hated the feel. After a few weeks the constant small cuts and dry skin just stopped, and my grip actually got better with the right pair. It’s funny how the gear that feels like a hassle at first ends up being the thing that lets you work without hurting.

inMy foreman in Tacoma told me I was over-driving my 16d nails by a full 1/8 inch, which was causing splits in the treated lumber.
Yeah, that "over-driving" thing is real. I've seen guys sink them so deep the head almost disappears, especially with a fresh battery. It doesn't just split the wood, it actually weakens the hold because you're crushing the fibers around the nail.

inA customer called me out for not checking the fuse first on a simple TV repair
Eh, we've all been there.

inUsed a car dent puller on a boiler panel and it actually worked
Nice! Guess that boiler just needed a little auto body love.
