inThe day we tried meditation between rivet runs
Seriously, what a perfect example of theory crashing into the real world. I read something once about how trying to force calm in a chaotic place can actually make you more stressed. The whole point is a quiet space, not a loud hangar floor. Your boss was probably just trying to help, but man, that setup was doomed. Did he ever admit it was a bad idea, or just pretend it never happened?

inTIL I'm not as good at spotting different rocks as I thought.
Hold up, you tried the scratch test with a penny? That's actually pretty smart for a quick check! Quartz is way harder than calcite, so it should scratch glass easily. Calcite will scratch with a copper penny though, which is why it worked. For the field, just carry a small piece of glass or a steel nail to test hardness. That way you don't end up with a bag full of calcite again, lol.

inIgnoring proper lifting form for hoistway components will wreck your back
Notice how we skip steps in daily chores too... my dad always lifts groceries one-handed from the car, then wonders why his shoulder aches. Same with guys at the gym throwing weights around instead of controlling the motion. It's like we're wired to take the easy way out, even when it hurts us later. Back problems don't just come from heavy lifts... they build up from all the little things we do wrong.

inWhy I serve lumpy muffins at book club.
My grandma's lumpy mashed potatoes were always the best part of Sunday dinner (the lumps meant real potatoes, not powder). Texture just adds a whole other layer of interest to food, you know? A perfect smooth bowl never had the same soul.

inI finally started using unique passwords for every site
Last year's breach showed even password managers get hacked sometimes.
