Man, @brianfox is totally right about trades having real value. It's like when people trade their time for something, not just stuff. They'll say a side project didn't cost money, but they spent nights and weekends on it. That time had value. Or trading a favor for help moving, you're still paying with your effort. My buddy Jake in Phoenix saw a shop just hose old fluid into a storm drain last year. It's wild that stuff still happens, which kinda makes sense what @tyler_ward92 said about the cert being a pain now. They probably had to crack down harder on the bad actors.
