Just saw a stat that my phone's screen is on for like 4 hours a day

My digital wellbeing tracker showed it, and I was shocked because I barely feel like I use it that much. Anyone else check theirs and get a rude awakening?

Setting a hard rule like no phones in the bedroom or while eating really helped me cut down. Once you break those automatic habits, those minutes don't pile up as much. It's honestly freeing to not have a screen in front of your face during those quiet moments.

Notice how every public space is full of people looking down at their hands now. We've all gotten used to filling tiny bits of dead time, like waiting for an elevator or standing in line, by pulling out our phones. Those moments add up without us even feeling them. It's the new normal to be constantly plugged into a small screen, and the trackers just show us the total cost of that habit. The real shock is realizing how much of our day quietly slips into that little rectangle.

Tbh it's wild how automatic it is now. I caught myself checking my phone while brushing my teeth the other day.
