After years of using smart watches, I prefer a basic timer

In my view, gadget reviews often skip over how simple tools can be better. Take this with a grain of salt, but my old timer has never let me down like fancy gadgets do.

Seriously, your story about the timer outlasting the smart watch hits home. I've got a simple digital timer from years ago that never fails me. All these new gadgets seem to break or need constant attention. It's nice to have one thing in life that just works without any drama. Makes you wonder why we bother with the complicated stuff sometimes.

My kitchen timer from 2010 still works perfect. I used it for baking yesterday while my friend's smart watch died mid-workout. Those things need charging every day, which is annoying. My timer just needs a battery change once in a blue moon. It's one less thing to worry about, lol.

Totally! My old microwave's timer is like that too, it just won't quit. @the_sam is right, simple stuff doesn't demand your attention all the time.
