Had to choose between a full glue down or a floating floor for a concrete slab job

The homeowner wanted the look of engineered wood but the slab had some minor moisture. I went with a full glue down using a premium vapor barrier adhesive. It added a day to the schedule but the floor feels rock solid now. Anyone have a different go-to method for slightly damp slabs?

My uncle's 1970s split-level had the same problem, a slab that just always felt damp. You see this everywhere now, houses built on ground that just wasn't ready for it. That extra day you spent is what separates a job that lasts from one you have to redo in five years. People want the quick fix, but the right prep is the whole game.

Good call, that vapor barrier glue is the only way to go.

Did a similar job last year where the slab tested at like 4.5 on the moisture meter. Went with Bostik's MVP glue down system. Took an extra half day to tack the floor down in sections, but that adhesive really locks in. Zero callbacks so far and the homeowner says it feels way more solid than the floating click stuff they had before.
