Had a draft horse with a really low heel that kept pulling shoes

I was about to give up and just do a glue-on, but I tried a rolled toe and a wide web shoe with a full pad. The pad was just plain pour-in stuff, but it gave that heel some support it needed. Anyone else had luck with this combo for a low heel?

Glad it worked for you and for @jade_miller's friend, but I've found that setup can trap moisture and lead to other issues long-term.

My friend's Percheron mare had the same problem last spring. They went with a rolled toe and a full pour in pad on a wide shoe, and it held for a full cycle. Honestly, it was the only thing that gave that flat foot enough support to keep a shoe on.

Ever try a heart bar shoe?

Oh man, that "trapping moisture" thing @the_brooke mentioned is real. My last attempt at a full pad turned into a science experiment, and not the good kind. Sometimes you just have to laugh at the mess, right?
