I used to be so scared of touching a hot air station for microsoldering
Back in my first shop job, I'd avoid any board with a BGA chip like the plague and just swap the whole thing. Then a mentor in Austin showed me his Pace station set to 350C with a specific nozzle, and it clicked. How many of you actually went from component-level fear to doing it daily?

Back in the day, that fear was totally real. Watched a guy in a repair shop try to reflow an Xbox GPU with a heat gun and a prayer, just made a huge mess of solder balls. Seeing a proper setup with the right tools and a steady hand changed everything. It's less about the heat and more about having a clear method, you know?

Remember when people would try to reflow laptop chips with a toaster oven? What was the weirdest "tool" you've seen someone try to use for a repair?
