Rant: My wake-up call on cheap chicken for slow cooker meals
I used to buy any chicken on sale for my slow cooker dishes. After learning about how some farms treat animals, I only get free-range now. But is paying more really the right choice?

Honestly, paying more for free-range is the right choice.

Do the chickens get a cut of the profit too? My wallet feels less free-range every time.

Ever wonder if the extra cost actually changes anything? I switched to free-range after seeing a documentary on factory farms, and the taste difference alone sold me. My pulled chicken used to be kinda watery, but now it shreds better and has more flavor. It just feels like I'm getting a real ingredient, not just filler. That made the higher price tag worth it for me.
