I saw a huge display of slow cooker liners at the Target in Bakersfield yesterday.

It got me thinking, are those plastic liners actually worth the money, or is a good soak after cooking just as easy?

My buddy swore by those liners for years until his whole pot roast dinner tasted like plastic one night. He figured out a tiny tear in the liner let all that steam melt into the food. Now he just sprays the crock with oil and lets it soak while he does the dishes, says it's way easier than worrying about another tear. Doesn't that kind of defeat the whole purpose of making cleanup simple if you have to worry about ruining a meal?

Nah, that's just one bad liner. The good ones are thick enough that tears almost never happen. I use them every time and have never had my food taste like plastic, cleanup takes like 30 seconds lol.
