Found a bag of frozen meatballs at the back of the slow cooker section at Aldi last week
The sell-by date was from three months ago. I watched three people grab them without checking. Check the dates under the bottom shelf at the Aldi on Elm Street, they're hiding the old stock down there.

Oh man, I gotta push back on this a little. In my experience, a sell-by date on frozen stuff is way more of a suggestion than a hard rule. Meatballs that have been frozen solid the whole time? They're probably fine for months after that date, especially if they were kept at a consistent temp. I've eaten frozen stuff a year past its date and couldn't tell the difference. Now if we were talking about fresh meat or dairy, I'd be right there with you checking every label. But frozen is a whole different ballgame, your mileage may vary of course.

Wait, are they seriously stacking old stock under the shelves now? That's wild. I found a pack of ground beef at my Aldi that was three weeks past date hidden behind some milk crates once. People have to be more careful, because that's just asking for trouble. I always pull stuff from the very back now after getting burned like that.
