Lost $150 on a bad batch of compound last month

Picked up a pallet of all-purpose from a supplier I hadn't used before. Figured it was a deal. First few buckets looked fine but after a day the stuff started bubbling like crazy on the tape. Had to scrape half a living room and redo it. Supplier wouldn't take it back. Anyone else run into compound that just goes bad like that?

Man that's rough, sounds like you got the "experimental bubble formula" instead of compound lol. Supplier probably knew it was bad and figured you'd just eat the loss like the rest of us suckers. Honestly $150 is cheap tuition for learning to always test a bucket first before slapping it on a whole room.

And honestly @leeknight, that testing thing is the real pro move right there. I had to learn it the hard way too, but now I always mix up a small batch first and let it sit for an hour before I commit. Saves you a whole lot of headache and scrubbing later.
