Watched an apprentice struggle with dimensioning for 20 minutes yesterday
He kept flipping between imperial and metric on his drawings without marking which one he was using. Has anyone else seen new drafters skip the annotation standards they learned in school?

Wait, they didn't mark which system they were using? That's just asking for a total disaster. How do you even get through school without that being drilled into your head?

Can't believe they actually let that slide through school without catching it. I'm with @emma349, that's the kind of basic stuff that should be second nature before you even touch a drafting table. Makes you wonder what else they glossed over if they can't even label the units.

Oh man, this is way too common. I've seen a guy put both scales on the same dimension line with no label, just numbers floating there. Makes you wonder if they even paid attention in class or just copied answers. The worst part is when you ask them about it and they just shrug like it's no big deal. Emma349 is totally right, a mixed-up dimension callout on a real build could cost thousands in rework. Maybe it's just me, but I feel like some schools just teach the basics without drilling the hard rules enough.
