I was sure I needed to replace my whole kitchen floor
After a pipe leak, I had to choose between patching the damaged vinyl planks or redoing the whole 200 square foot room. I picked the patch job, using leftover planks from the attic, and it blended way better than I thought. It took me a weekend and saved over $1,200 in materials. Has anyone else had a repair turn out better than a full replacement?

How good does it feel to save that kind of money? I had a dog scratch up a section of my laminate floor pretty bad last year. I was ready to call someone for a whole new floor, but my neighbor helped me sand and refinish just those boards. You can't even tell now, and it cost me maybe forty bucks for the supplies. Sometimes the fix is right in front of you.

Honestly makes me wonder how bad the damage really was. Like were the planks actually warped or just a little discolored? I've seen people panic over a small stain and tear out a whole section for no good reason. Sometimes you just gotta live with a little imperfection, it's a floor not a museum piece lol.
