PSA: The digital projection show on Main Street misses the mark big time

I swung by to see that new digital projection show they set up on Main Street last Friday, and wow, it was a letdown. The art is just flashy colors and moving patterns that don't really say anything, which feels lazy. I stood there for a bit and overheard folks asking each other what it was supposed to mean, which says a lot. It seems like whoever set this up just wanted something eye-catching without any real thought behind it. I do some digital doodling in my free time, and even my rough sketches have more story than this. Showcases like this should highlight skill and creativity, not just be a light show for bored people walking by. It's kinda sad because it could have been a cool spot for actual artists from around here to shine. They really need to step up their game next time, lol.

The real shame is how this makes the whole town look cheap for not hiring local talent. You get what you pay for, and this looks like a budget filler from a generic stock library. It sends a pretty bad message about what we value here.

Calling it lazy misses the point. That light show is pure eye candy, and sometimes that's all you need. Families with kids loved the bright colors, and it got people to stop and look. Using stock visuals keeps costs down so they can run the show all summer. Not every public art piece has to be deep. It's a fun addition to the street, and most folks seemed to enjoy it.
