A comment on my cityscape piece from a stranger at the Portland art walk
I was showing my digital painting of the Fremont Bridge at a local art walk last month. A man named David stopped and looked at it for a long time, then told me he used to work right under that bridge and the light on the water in my piece made him feel like he was back there. He said he could almost hear the traffic. I've been chasing that feeling of making a place feel real ever since. Has anyone else had a comment from a viewer that really stuck with you and changed how you work?

That feeling of realness hits like John's crickets comment did. Nice when art matches memory.

That "almost hear the traffic" thing is honestly how you know you got it right.
