Went from refund-first to store-credit after one return gone sideways
I used to always push for a cash refund when something came back, but after a customer in Seattle sent back a used toilet flange and we ate the $85 restock fee, I switched to store credit only. Has anyone else found that bending on returns just invites more abuse?
Hate that this happened to you because it really does ruin it for everyone. I get why you flipped to store credit, people will absolutely take advantage of a good return policy until it hurts. One bad customer can make you tighten everything up, and then the honest folks suffer too. It sucks that a used toilet flange, of all things, is what broke it for you. I've seen similar stuff at my own place and it just makes you feel done with being nice. You gotta protect your bottom line, plain and simple.
