Serious question, did anyone else find out their call center tracks bathroom breaks by the second?
I work at a big insurance call center in Columbus and last Tuesday our team lead accidentally left the metrics dashboard up on the big screen during a huddle. It showed every single one of us with a running clock for "personal time" and mine was at 214 minutes for the month, and the goal is 120. I sat through the whole meeting staring at that number because I thought bathroom trips didn't count. Has anyone else worked somewhere that clocked this stuff down to the second, and did you fight it or just start chugging less water?
A buddy of mine at a collections place in Dayton had the same setup, except his manager printed the weekly report and left it face up on the printer. His name was third from the top with something like 38 minutes in one day. He stopped drinking coffee at his desk and started bringing a giant water bottle instead, which honestly made it worse because then he was in there more. He never fought it, just got sneakier about timing his breaks around the dashboard refresh.
