PSA: A $2 paintbrush from the craft store fixed my sticky spacebar stabilizer
I was building a 75% board last week and the left stabilizer on my spacebar kept sticking on the upstroke, making a gross squishy sound. After trying three different lubes and checking the wire, I grabbed a small paintbrush from my kid's art box and dry-brushed the inside of the stabilizer housing. The tiny bristles grabbed all the leftover factory grease and dust I missed. Now it's smooth as butter. Has anyone else found a weird household tool that saved a build?

Wait, you had three different lubes just sitting around? That's the real story here. I'm over here trying to make a tiny tube of Krytox 205g0 last for three years, and you've got a whole buffet. My entire lube collection fits in a sandwich bag.

Honestly I used to think you needed the exact right tools for everything, but I fixed a rattly enter key last month with a cut up piece of a plastic grocery bag. Shoved a tiny bit in the stabilizer clip as a shim. Felt like a total hack but it worked perfectly, no rattle at all now. Sometimes the weird fix is the best one lol.
