Threw $150 down the drain on a "growth hack" course last quarter

I bought into this whole "viral content formula" thing from some guru on YouTube (you know the type). Spent 8 weeks following their system and my engagement actually dropped by 20%. What finally convinced me to ditch it was when I noticed all their examples were from 2021 - the algorithm changed completely since then. Has anyone else gotten burned by these promise-heavy creator courses?

Wait, have you checked if that guy is still posting about the "new algorithm" now? I was reading some blog post about "course flippers" and they talked about how these gurus purposely use old examples because their real trick is selling courses not actually teaching anything that works right now. The algorithms change every few months so paying for a formula is basically buying a map that's already outdated when you get it. I feel like the whole system is built on selling you the dream of getting big fast when real growth is boring and slow. Sorry you got burned, that's tough to swallow.

Yeah "buying a map that's already outdated" is basically every online course now... It's the same pattern as those meal prep subscriptions where by the time you get the food it's already bad. People just repackage old stuff and call it new.
