Got more engagement after I stopped posting at 'peak times'

Last month I switched to posting at 2am on a Tuesday just to test something, and my little niche video about packing routes got triple the comments my usual 6pm slots pull. It made me wonder if the algorithm rewards weird hours for smaller creators since there's less competition. Anyone else seen this happen or was it just a lucky fluke?

My cousin runs a small bakery account and she noticed the same thing with her sourdough videos, but only on Sundays. She posted at 5am once because she couldn't sleep and got like 40 orders for her cinnamon rolls from people in Europe. Now she does it every Sunday and it works, but only if she films the dough rise in real time. Weirdest part is her usual followers barely show up for those posts, it's all new people.
