Met a guy at a bus stop in Portland who gave me a whole story in three words

He was just sitting there, and when I asked if the 75 was running late, he said, 'It's chasing ghosts.' I had to ask what he meant, and he told me the driver's wife left him last Tuesday, so now he drives the route looking for her car. What's the best writing prompt you've ever gotten from a random stranger?

Chasing ghosts" is gold, write it in your phone notes right now before it fades.

Yeah, janaf76 is right about writing it down... my phone notes are just a graveyard of half ideas I never looked at again. That "chasing ghosts" line is probably already haunting my forgotten grocery lists. It's a solid phrase, but my follow through is a ghost story of its own.

That "chasing ghosts" line is perfect. I'd write down the exact phrasing before you forget it.
