I used to scoff at load charts until I nearly dropped a 12 ton beam in Houston
Always thought the old guys were just overcomplicating things, but last month my buddy let me borrow his chart for a 150-foot boom setup and it saved me from a huge mistake. The math on the radius was spot on, and I realized I'd been guessing for years. Has anyone else had a close call that made them change their tune?

Learning to trust the charts is like learning to read the directions on a medicine bottle - you think you know your limits until the numbers prove otherwise. It's funny how the most boring safety measures end up being the ones that save your skin.

Man I hear that, glad you caught it in time. Those charts look boring until you realize one mistake can cost way more than the time it took to read them. It's humbling when the old timers turn out to be right all along.
