That spot near the airport in Denver had me questioning the whole flight path thing

I was parked at that gravel lot off Tower Road watching planes land for 20 minutes and noticed they all came in at a weird angle that totally avoids the downtown skyline, has anyone else clocked that weird flight pattern or am I overthinking it?

You ever notice how those flight paths seem to skirt right around the city center like they're avoiding something? That's not your imagination, pilots do that to keep noise down over downtown Denver. Plus there's that whole thing with wind patterns coming off the mountains, they have to line up with the runways just right. So yeah, you're not overthinking it, it's a real thing they plan out.

Wait, are we really pretending pilots are doing some kind of secret choreography up there? I mean, yeah, they avoid the city center for noise, but half the time they're just following the same three or four standard arrival routes that have been around for decades. It's not like they're dodging aliens or a government conspiracy. Those wind patterns off the mountains are real, sure, but it's more about keeping the approach straight than some grand plan to hide anything. Feels like people just want to think there's more to it than boring old air traffic control.
