PSA: I stopped believing the chemtrail theory after my neighbor showed me a nozzle diagram on his 2005 Cessna

Used to swear the white trails in the sky were full of chemicals, kept a log for 2 years and everything. Then my HVAC buddy Tom brought me to the local airstrip near Springfield last October and we talked to a pilot named Dave. He opened up the exhaust stack right there and showed me the water vapor mixing process, simple physics not conspiracy. Anyone else had a practical demonstration that broke a theory they held for years?

Huh, that's actually pretty wild. So after two years of logging, was it harder to let go of the tracking habit itself, or the feeling that you were onto something nobody else saw?

Oh, the "onto something nobody else saw" part. I mean, I get it, but also... is it really that deep? In my experience, most of the time when you think you've found some hidden pattern nobody else caught, it's just noise. Your mileage may vary, but after a while I realized I was just looking at the same data over and over and finding meaning where there wasn't any. Letting go of the tracking habit itself was actually harder for me, just because it became this weird comfort thing. Like, even if the data was useless, the act of logging felt productive. Take that with a grain of salt though, I might just be lazy.
