The worst part of my day is cleaning a power trowel after a 90-degree pour
Three years ago on a job in Phoenix, I spent 45 minutes after shift just chipping set concrete off the blades. My foreman said 'that's part of the job, kid' and walked off. Anyone got a faster method that actually works?

Man, Phoenix heat on a concrete set is no joke. I had a brutal day last summer where my power trowel sat for just an hour after a patio pour and it was basically welded together. What finally worked for me was keeping a cheap garden sprayer filled with water and a tiny bit of dish soap in my truck. Right when you finish, before the machine even cools down, spray the blades and the underside really good. It doesn't stop all the buildup, but it makes the chipping part way faster because the concrete doesn't bond as hard. Still a terrible job, but maybe it'll save you twenty minutes.

Oh man, that soap trick is smart. @lindagreen, it reminds me of the time my uncle swore by spraying down his shovel with WD-40 before digging in clay. Some of these old-school fixes just work, you know? What's the weirdest trick you've picked up on a job?
