What brand of cheap paste were you using before? I've seen some of those generic white tubes perform really badly after just a few months.

Swapped to Kryonaut on my old CPU and saw a solid 10-degree drop under load. The cheap paste I had before was basically dried out. Makes you wonder what else we cheap out on that holds performance back.
