A client's home office setup in Boise made me rethink my whole approach to dust

I was fixing a noisy fan on a gaming PC last month, and the inside was packed with thick, gray dust bunnies. The owner said he cleaned it with compressed air 'every few weeks' but his desk was right next to a forced air floor vent. I realized his cleaning schedule was fighting a losing battle against the air flow. Now I always ask about room layout and vent placement during my initial check. Has anyone else found a simple environmental fix that solved a repeat problem?

That "losing battle against the air flow" is so real. I had a client with constant overheating issues, and it turned out their tower was shoved in a little cubby under the desk with a solid back panel. Moved it out just six inches so the back exhaust could actually breathe, and the problem vanished.

Ever wonder how many "hardware failures" are just bad placement? People spend money on new parts when all they need is a few inches of space. It's crazy how often the fix is that simple.
