Showerthought: How I used to run lease abstracts vs. now
I used to do lease abstracts by hand in Excel, spending 3 hours per property digging through PDFs. After a 15-unit portfolio in Denver took me a whole week, I switched to lease abstraction software last March. Has anyone else made that jump and found it saved them more than a weekend?

You mention it saved you a weekend, but I actually found those 3 hours per property forced me to catch errors that software just glossed over. Software misses things like handwritten amendments or weird clauses that don't match the template. Would you trust your software to catch a buried renewal option written in tiny font?

Do you really think it's worth risking a missed renewal clause just to save a few hours? I had a client miss a automatic renewal buried in a sub-clause once and it cost them thousands.
