inGot told my swing wire tension was way off by a guy who's been running a cutterhead in Mobile for 30 years.
I learned that the hard way when my car battery died in a grocery store parking lot. Always keep jumper cables in your trunk.

inJust finished my 500th yard of stamped concrete this year
Honestly, it feels like a lot of people are hitting those numbers lately. I see it with my brother's landscaping business too, just booked more jobs than ever. Makes me wonder if it's because everyone who bought houses a few years ago is finally fixing up their yards and driveways now. That kind of steady work just piles up without you even noticing until you run the numbers. Good for you though, that's a solid year right there.

inChatting with my dad about his old TV repair shop made me miss schematics
Oh man, I totally get that... my dad's old schematic folders are falling apart but I can't toss them. Good call on the folder vs binder thing, @robin_schmidt57, mine are a mess of loose paper now.

inI was reading an old meat science journal from the 80s and found a surprising number about fat trim.
That's crazy, but it makes sense with how cooking gear has changed. Those old electric ovens probably needed all that fat to keep things from drying out lol.

inBurned a full day's pay on that 'quick-set' tile adhesive from the big box store (the green tub).
Yeah, riley's right, that green mastic never really dries. You gotta scrape it all off now and use a powder mix.
