Figured out a way to avoid ear squeezes on deep dives.
Taking more time to equalize helped, but I'm open to other tips.

Totally. I had that same issue for ages. Switching to the Valsalva maneuver early and often was my fix.

Ever notice how so many problems come from trying to force things instead of just giving them time? Your point about taking more time to equalize really hits on that. I see it everywhere, like people rushing a new relationship or trying to learn a skill too fast. It usually backfires. Slowing down, like you did on the dive, is almost always the fix for stuff that feels stuck or under pressure. It's a simple fix but we forget it all the time.

Sometimes the fix isn't just slowing down, but noticing the early signs before pressure builds. Your ears might give a tiny pop or ache long before real pain, and heeding that avoids forced equalization. Learning to catch those whispers in other areas of life saves a lot of struggle later...
