Warning: never let a barista friend "fix" your espresso machine

My buddy Dave from the shop in Brooklyn offered to recalibrate my Breville. Said the pressure was off. Two hours later, water spraying everywhere, a spring shot across the kitchen. Cost me $180 for a real repair guy to undo the mess. Anyone else had a well-meaning expert ruin their setup?

Read online that most home machines need factory specs, not a friend's guess.

@rodriguez.cora is right, factory specs are the only way to not end up with a $180 bill.
