Finally dialed in my pour over at that cafe in Brooklyn

I was at this little spot in Williamsburg last Saturday and the barista let me try my hand on their setup. Got the water temp and pour time right for once, and the cup came out way smoother than I expected. Anyone else have that one cafe where the gear just clicks for you?

Did you ever get that weird moment where the exact same beans taste totally different at home no matter what you do? I swear I had this pour over at a spot in Bushwick once, came out all floral and bright, and I bought the same bag and tried like five different grinds and water temps at my place and it just came out kinda flat. Something about the cafe's water filter or maybe the vibe just messes with the flavor. I end up just accepting that some drinks taste better when someone else makes them.

Dude yes, I had that exact same thing happen with a Colombian roast from a shop in Greenpoint, tasted like berries there and like cardboard at home lol.
