Vent: I was washing my reusable bags wrong for 3 years
Found out last week that you're supposed to wash those canvas grocery bags in hot water after every few trips, not just wipe them out. I had raw chicken juice soaking into mine for years and never once thought about it. Anyone else miss the obvious stuff with green living?

Raw chicken juice soaking into mine for years" - yep, that's basically my whole approach to meal prep too, just seasoning the bags over time instead of washing them.

It's funny how the "green" stuff is supposed to make you feel better about yourself, but half the time you're just discovering you've been living in your own filth. Been that way with a lot of things for me... like realizing you can't just throw compostable stuff in the regular trash and call it a day.
