That $12 cat book from the dollar bin was a hidden gem
I picked up that weird vintage cat photo book from the clearance rack at a bookstore in Portland for 12 bucks last spring. I figured it'd be just old blurry pictures of cats sitting on mailboxes, but the pages have these hilarious handwritten captions from the 1960s about each cat's personality. Really changed my mind about bargain bin finds for books like this. Anyone else score a cheap cat book that turned out way cooler than expected?

Right, those handwritten captions are the best part. Found a cheap cat book once and it had a picture of a fluffy orange cat next to a note that just said "This is Greg. He hates the lawnmower with a burning passion." Made my whole month.

Wait hold on, you're telling me the caption literally said "He hates the lawnmower with a burning passion"? That is way too specific and amazing. I can't believe someone actually took the time to write that out about their cat Greg like it was a serious character description. My book has one where the caption just says "This is Mittens, she judges everyone including the mailman." No extra detail, no drama, just a simple fact. But yours has full on hate for lawn equipment. That's next level. Honestly makes me want to dig through more dollar bins to see what other weird cat personalities are hiding in there.
