Wasted $80 on a fancy cat water fountain that my cat ignored

I bought this ceramic water fountain off Amazon for like $80 because I thought my cat would love running water. Nope. She took one look at it and went back to drinking out of the bathroom sink faucet. The fountain sat there for 3 weeks making noise before I finally took it apart and cleaned it for the last time. Now it's in a box in the garage. Did anyone else have a cat that just refused a fountain no matter what you tried?

Man I used to be all about those fountains, thought they were the best thing for cats. Then I got one for my old tabby and she acted like it was a suspicious alien artifact. She'd sniff it once and walk off to drink from a puddle in the driveway. I tried putting it in different spots, even added some catnip near it. Nothing. Ended up selling it for cheap on Facebook marketplace after a month. She only drinks from the bathtub drip now, so I guess some cats just have their own weird preferences and that's that.

Feel you on this, my cat does the same thing with the fancy water bowl I bought him.
