My cat started attacking my feet after I moved her litter box to the basement
I moved my cat Mittens' litter box down to the basement last Tuesday because it was getting too smelly in the living room. Now every single night around 3 AM she pounces on my feet under the blanket, like she's mad at me. I think she's holding a grudge about the change of location. Has anyone else's cat gotten weird about a litter box relocation?

Haha oh nah, I totally get why your cat is acting out but I don't think she's holding a grudge. Cats are super sensitive to routine changes, especially with their bathroom spot. Moving the litter box to a whole different level of the house probably freaked her out because it's unfamiliar and she might think it's not safe or too far away. Plus the basement is probably colder and darker which cats aren't always keen on for their business. She's not being spiteful she's just stressed and confused about the new setup. Try moving the box back slowly or at least keep a second box upstairs while she adjusts.

Honestly it might be the basement smell freaking her out more than the actual move lol.
