My cat just stared at a cucumber for 15 minutes straight

I left a grocery bag on the floor and a cucumber rolled out, and my cat, Mochi, froze and just... watched it from across the kitchen. She didn't hiss or run, just did that slow, intense stare-down for a quarter of an hour. Is this some weird predator-prey thing, or did she just think it was a really weird snake?

Read somewhere that cucumbers freak cats out because they look like snakes. Makes sense since they are low to the ground and long. Your cat was probably doing a full threat assessment on that weird green intruder.
