Why does nobody talk about packing cubes for Iceland?
I went to Iceland for 8 days last month and fit everything in a single carry-on using those cheap packing cubes from Amazon. Seriously, I had 4 pairs of wool socks, 3 thermal layers, a rain jacket, and still had room for snacks. Has anyone else found a system that beats cubes for cramming in bulky cold weather gear?

My first trip to Iceland I showed up with a giant duffel bag like an idiot and ended up wearing the same damp socks for three days cause everything else was soaked... Found packing cubes on a whim for my second trip last winter and honestly I looked like a magician pulling outfits out of that tiny bag while my friend was struggling with her giant suitcase that barely fit in the rental car. Those cheap Amazon cubes are basically cheating for cold weather trips, I just roll everything tight and shove it in like a little fabric puzzle. Plus they keep your dirty underwear from touching your nice sweater, which is a bonus I didn't know I needed until I opened my bag in Reykjavik and it didn't smell like a gym locker.

Totally agree, packing cubes are a total game changer and I felt like a packing genius on my last cold weather trip after I finally grabbed a set. Rolling everything tight in those things is seriously the best travel hack I've ever picked up.
