Roll vs fold debate got flipped on me by a flight attendant

I was boarding a flight to Chicago O'Hare and this Delta attendant saw me cramming a duffel into the overhead. She said I waste space by rolling my t-shirts and should stack them flat instead. Says it saves 2 inches of depth in a standard 22-inch bag. Anyone else converted from team roll to stack after hearing a pro?

2 inches seems like a real stretch lol I feel like my roll method saves way more space than that.

2 inches though? Unless you're folding a single t-shirt perfectly flat with zero air left in it, I just don't see it. I tried the KonMari fold once and my drawer looked like a before picture from a hoarder show. Everything was wrinkled and I couldn't find anything without digging through the stack anyway. The roll method at least lets me see the color of each shirt at a glance. Maybe your t-shirts are made of tissue paper or something.
